In the Land of Nod

Way up in the sky
Resides a princely sheep
In the Land of Nod
Where princes and princesses sleep

The fluffy folds
Of the downy streets
Lull the citizens of Nod
Into a deep retreat

The winds that blow
Softly through the wheat
And the water that glistens
From the moon’s pale beam
Provide the backdrop
For the princely sheep
To leap o’er golden fences
As Nods slip into sleep.

In an open field
Of the prince’s keep
The thunder rolls
And the shepherds weep.

A goodnight kiss
In the land of winks
Warms Nods’ hearts
As they drift off to dream.

Not a soul awake
Everyone’s asleep
On a bed of clouds
The princely sheep bleats
A peaceful lullaby
With a soothing beat
In the Land of Nod
Where princes and princesses sleep.
